A story about the beauty and hardship of being teenagers. About their escape routes, in an adult world that while instigating them to do something with their lives, dissuades them by displacing them to the marginality of the context in which they were born. Approach A work that seeks to understand and describe the multiple layers that make up its reality: an unchanging territory anchored to its mining echoes, a post-indus- trial and commercial drift, a reserved domestic space, a vast natural space, a complex national and international political climate, and finally a dehumanised public space. A compilation of places that in itself evidences the metaphor of the “elephant in the room”. That problem, the youth and their volatile and uncertain future, understood by those who take control of their lives. That space of risk that they continue to avoid attending to. Where perhaps it is time to raise our voices and say “what do we do with this” or rather... “from now on? from now on”. With a classical form in its aesthetic language, the project seeks to provide a universal vision, a melody, a lullaby that speaks about the “state of youth”. The lack of stable light supply is a major constraint for the development of medical work, directly affecting the life expectancy of Sierra Leone people. No hay nada más limpio que una gélida barra de cinc, metálica, como el color del Lexus que había recogido esa misma mañana. Buscaba un bar de esos que sepan a clásico, buscaba con ello algo de lo que añoro de no vivir ya en la que fue mi ciudad natal. Un café con porras, una tradición que se repite como el carrusel de noticias matutino. Aquel día el canal 24h, falto de noticias como cada estío, no paraba de radiar lo que es otro clásico en sus informativos de verano buscando no otra cosa que rellenar y rellenar esa parrilla carente de interés y ritmo. Una televisión demasiado grande gobernaba el espacio. Ya no era la barra reina y señora de ese lugar, y los parroquianos – entre los que me incluyo –, incapaces de ignorar tal descomunal y ordinario electrodoméstico colgado de la pared. Todo funciona igual en la ciudad. El silencio y la conversación están sobrevalorados. Una nueva ola de calor. La primera del verano. Otra historia que nos aventura a este precipicio del cambio climático. Protéjanse y permanezcan en sus lugares en las horas centrales del día. Busquen un pasatiempo, hagan algo diferente. Ser permeable a la energía de un viaje es buscar sorprenderse. Es cambiar tus propias reglas. Un motor de gasolina por un híbrido. Es definir un nuevo itinerario. Ir a la Antártida.
